Maidentrip "Beerboat"


We prouldy anounce the christening of the so-called "Beerboat" (in dutch Bierboot) which is an all-electric vessel design of Vuyk Engineering Rotterdam to be used in the canals of the city of Utrecht for the distibution of beverages to the catering industry.

At the end of 2007, Vuyk Engineering Rotterdam has been contracted to design a second Bierboot for the city of Utrecht. The aims were to come to an all-electric design with a length of 19 m, a maximum width of about 4.26 m, a height above the waterline of only 1.65 m and a draught smaller than 1.2 m. After succesfull completion of this assignment, VER assisted in the selection and contracing of an appropriate yard. This became shipyard Bocxe in Delft, in combination with Koeleman Electro.

In the beginning of May 2009 the keel was laid. During the preparations hereof, and the following building phase, VER provided building supervising services to the city of Utrecht, finally leading to a succesful maidentrip the 15th of January 2010.
