Modular F-type Gangway and F-Base
Ampelmann’s F-type offshore access system maximizes the efficiency of crew change operations at variable heights. Vuyk Engineering scope of work
Ampelmann and Vuyk Engineering Rotterdam jointly developed the F-type Gangway and F-Base tower. The F-Base serves as a modular base for the motion-compensated gangway. It consists of several modules that can be combined to adjust the working height of the system.
For the F-Base, the gangway is mounted on the skid interface, with the top module attached directly to it. For transport purposes, the skid base and top module can be separated. These components must always be used together when the gangway is in the F-type configuration. The top module houses the control system and other vital components necessary for the gangway’s operation.
The top module can be mounted directly on the grillage, or the working height of the system can be adjusted by mounting one or two staircase modules between the grillage and the top module.
