For offshore transport or installation projects, dedicated static and dynamic operational assessments are required and/or can influence the costs of equipment, deck arrangements, operational choices or motion compensation measures.

Applying classification society rules for acceleration and loads is not always sufficient to design a specific installation or transport vessel, lifting appliance or handling tool. Direct calculations in target environment can create more dedicated design parameters especially for target operational conditions. Therefore, Vuyk also performs dedicated operational workability assessments for both design as well as installation projects.

Workability assessments

Project-specific installation assessments are performed for handling, upending and/or installation of:

  • Installation equipment
  • Monopiles
  • Pinpiles
  • Topsides
  • WTG components

For this purpose, Vuyk uses:

  • AQWA and/or;
  • Orcaflex (hydro)dynamic assessments;
  • supported by various in-house developed tools;
  • and python scripts

The results comprise of comprehensive workability data useful for both project
planning as well as decision making in the field.
